There are three key styles from New balance available at Runner’s High. Learn a little about each one below.

The most aggressive and advanced spike of the three styles is the New Balance XC 5000. It is going to rival the Nike Zoom Victory XC and the Saucony Carrera. Unlike the Nike Zoom Victory XC, the New Balance XC 5000 is going to be pretty similar to the past version. The upper is designed with a burrito construction to keep your foot snug and in place. It is also designed with mesh to give your feet breathability and no-sew material for a smooth construction. The outsole is constructed with blown rubber and contains five spikes that give you great traction on any cross country course. (4.8 oz)

New Balance XC900v4:

Not sure you want a super aggressive spike like the XC5000? Want a spike that is lightweight, but has a little bit more shoe to it? Then the New Balance XC900 is the spike for you. The upper on the NB XC900 provides you with breathability from the mesh construction and a snug fit. The midsole is constructed with New Balance’s REVlite. REVlite is a lightweight foam that provides you with the same durability, protection and responsiveness as other New Balance foams that are much heavier. REVlite gives you the lightness you need for race day without sacrificing durability and responsiveness. The bottom is constructed with a rubber outsole with six spikes for traction. (6.6 oz)

New Balance XC700:

Is this your first time wearing a spike? Then this spike is the one for you! Like the other two New Balance spikes, the upper contains a lightweight mesh to give your feet lots of breathability during your race. It also gives you a comfortable snug fit thanks to the hidden internal support cage. The midsole has extra exposed EVA foam so that you can feel comfortable tackling all different elements. The bottom contains a rubber outsole with six spikes to get the perfect amount of traction. (5.8 oz)
